Ice Cream Makes Everything Better

Today we went to visit Baoduzhou, an ancient mountaintop village that is part of the Great Wall. This location has miles of reconstructed wall, so it was rebuilt recently, but the setting is amazing, as is the village itself. We took a cable car ride to the top and the views were spectacular, even with the ever present haze of China's air.

our hotel...just kiddingAubrey was in an odd mood all day today, cranky one minute and playful the next. At around eleven, she had a bit of a fit. She was hungry, but had also just seen this guy:I don't think she liked him very much.

A quick snack and she was ready to go


...for about a minute, then she fell asleep on my shoulder. I carried her at least 400 miles today.After our field trip, we went back to the hotel for lunch

Becci enjoyed an exciting game of Soduku... And then we had our major meltdown of the day. After a quick incident where I said no about something and she decided to do it anyway, I tried for a "time out"...she was not familiar with the concept and expressed her disapproval by coming unglued. But, after some soothing and time, she came back to Earth.

Dinner tonight was another trip to the Wonton place, some stuffed flatbread from the street, and to make everybody's day...ice cream!


Finally, a movie that captured the attention of at least one member of the audience, and it's off to bed.
We have free days tomorrow and Monday...bye for now
