We Made It

So, it turns out that the Earth is huge..and it takes a really long time to get to the other side of it!

After 8000 miles, three planes, three onboard meals, one busted suitcase, several shuttles and18 hours of flight time, we're in Beijing.

As you can imagine, we're a bit jetlagged at the moment. We got to meet Grace, our first guide in China, after a little bit of wandering around and made it to the Hotel. We've met 2 of the 3 other couples that are in our travel group and all seem very nice.

We're going to conk out now, the hotel is beautiful, right in downtown Beijing. It's very modern and upscale. Tomorrow (Sat.), we go on a whirlwind sight seeing tour, stopping at Tianemen Square, the forbidden city, The Great Wall and the Olympic village.

Oh, the suit case thing is actually a real bummer. The zippers on Becci's suitcase are missing...never to be seen again, which renders it completely useless. So, we're improvising for a few days until we can pick up a replacement.

More later...bye for now.
